Mike DeKoning

President, Allstate Benefits

Mike is President of Allstate Benefits and a Senior Vice President of the Allstate Insurance Company. Allstate Benefits is a leading provider of voluntary employee benefits products in North America with more than 1,200 employees and more than 40,000 employer groups serving 4.4 million customers.

Before his appointment, Mike served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. life business of a major international reinsurer. He was responsible for all aspects of US life reinsurance covering the individual life, group life, disability, long term care and annuity businesses. He also spent almost 20 years at a major Canadian financial institution, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President, Corporate Risk Management, where he led product risk projects across the US, Canada and Asia.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied actuarial science, economics and statistics. He has served in leadership roles with many industry organizations, including LIMRA and the American Council of Life Insurers, and he is an active volunteer with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Make-A-Wish Georgia.


Walter M. Jones

Executive Vice President, Sales & Distribution

Walter Jones is Executive Vice President of Sales & Distribution for the United States and Canada and currently oversees all distribution channels including the Exclusive Agent Channel; the Independent Agent Channel, National Accounts, Canada, Strategic Alliances and Private Exchanges.

Walter is a proven, seasoned professional with over 27 years of experience in the employee benefits business. He spent his first 10 years in the employee benefits business with The Marsh & McLennan companies based in Washington, D.C. Walter later joined Aon Consulting in 1998 as Vice President of the Employee Benefits Group based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After 10 successful years with Aon Consulting, Walter moved to Allstate Benefits in Jacksonville, Florida as the newly created Sr. Vice President of National Accounts. After seven consecutive years of record growth and profit, Walter was promoted to Executive Vice President, Sales & Distribution.

Walter currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Brooks College of Health at The University of North Florida. Walter is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.


Keith Hauschildt

Executive Vice President, Operations & Technology and Chief Operating Officer

Keith Hauschildt is Executive Vice President – Operations and Technology, Allstate Benefits. His responsibilities include all aspects of operational infrastructure that support the marketing, distribution and servicing of Allstate Benefits employee benefits business: Information and Enrollment Technology, New Business/Underwriting, Premium Administration, Licensing and Contracting, Agent Compensation/Commissions, Claims, Customer Service and Facilities Management.

Prior to assuming this role, Keith was Vice President – Program Management Office, Allstate Financial (AF). Previously, Keith was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, AF.

Over Keith’s 26 year career with Allstate, he has held various positions in Allstate Corporate, Sears and Allstate Financial, including roles in Customer Service, Finance, M&A and Product.

Keith received his Bachelor of Accounting from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Keith is a CPA and a FLMI.


Liz Mahin, CPA

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Finance

Liz Mahin is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Allstate Benefits and Senior Director of the Allstate Insurance Company.

Before her appointment, Liz served as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer from 1994 – 2000. Liz left the company and the workforce from 2001 through 2005 and rejoined Allstate Benefits in 2006.

Liz’s career with Allstate began in 1988, when she began working as Director of Financial Reporting. Since that time she has held a number of leadership positions in the Jacksonville office. Her previous corporate roles include Vice President and Controller and Assistant Vice President.

Liz is a CPA and graduate of the State University of New York in Albany with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
